Andrew's appointment for his helmet

Well, I recorded Andrew's appointment to get his helmet resized. Our doctor suggest this because Andrew's head is a little flat in the back. He looks so cute with his helmet on. He has to wear it for 23 hours a day for 3 to 4 months. He is already used to it. This should help his head to grow more round. Luckily it is covered by my insurance or it would have cost approximately $3-4 thousand.

Here's a video clip of his appointment...a bit long..

Hey Paul – I linked your blog on my page. Thanks!!

Now I have a dumb and maybe even stereotypical question for you that I am embarrassed to admit, I have always wondered about. This is so embarrassing and I’m sorry if it’s offensive or un-informed ect… BUT, I would love to be educated on this (hint please blog if you are comfortable)

Enough stalling…

Andrew has two Daddies so is his birthmom – Mom? She really can’t be in the parenting sense of the word but how about the title and/or emotional sense? Someday if your OA remains healthy can you imagine yourself saying “Andrew, your Mother’s on the phone” or whatever. Lot’s of times there is sensitivity around the word Mom, Mother, etc for obvious reasons – As a family of two Dads, is there sensitivity around the word Mom and all that goes with it?

Ack… such a stereotypical question but I have no clue as to what the answer may be.

Thanks ((( Hugs)))

Hi Paul, Ed and Andrew,
We think your blog is great! We really enjoyed reading about the growth of your family and the video of the Dr's appointment. Andrew is getting cuter every time we see him, if that is at all possible. Thank you for keeping us in the loop of your world :-)!!! Paul your a natural Dad! Next time maybe we will see a movie of Daddy Ed?? Stay happy and can't wait to see you all this summer.
Love,
Aunt Linda and Uncle Al

Thanks for sharing. It's always great to see how other babies are doing with their helmets (the babies all seem to be doing great- it's nice to see how other parents are doing!)
Great idea of cleaning it with wipes. We tried rubbing alcohol at first, but that gave Deven a rash on his forehead. Now we use baby shampoo.

Anyway, I will keep checking your site for updates. I hope it goes well!
