Being One With The Potty

Fatherhood Friday at Dad Blogs
So I began reading about the best ways to teach my son how to use the potty like a big boy. He is only 19 months and all the books I have read said you should not start too early and most agree by 2 1/2 years old the child should begin the learning process.

I did read that you should expose your baby even at an early age the potty seat. They say if your baby becomes familiar with the potty seat, he will not be afraid of it once you begin to teach him how to use it.

That made sense to me, so I went to BabiesRUs and bought him a nice white cushion-ie potty seat.

I left it in our living room so that Andrew and the Potty Seat could become better acquainted. Here is how they got along. Quite frankly, I think this potty training will be a breeze...How about you guys?

I guess it depends on which end of him you plan to potty train!!!

Cool pics.

Good luck as you travel down the potty path.

Awesome!! LOL Just remember to sing the Pee Pee song. I can also tell you that with three boys it worked very well with a "target" in the toilet. Usually a square of toilet paper and if they hit it, they got a prize or a treat.

Definitely not showing signs of "potty anxiety"! And it looks like he is having a blast to boot!

Great post! I am laughing out loud! Yes, Andrew's correct, it makes a great hat, but the mom part of me is going, "but that's the wrong end!"
Andrew is just too cute!

Andrew is such a great kid! Throw out the books. When Andrew shows interest bring him with you, let him go for a few test drives and when he wants to he will just start doing it. Usually they are ready when they start waking up dry in the mornings. That's a sign they have enough control.
